“The Revenant” is certainly one of the most talked about films of 2015. The film has been recently nominated for the Golden Globe Awards in three major categories. This indeed strengthens its candidature for Oscars. We all saw the powerful trailer of the film that is inspired by real life incidents.

Leonardo DiCaprio seems to have given one of the best performances of his lifetime. But what is the actual story behind all the hype that “The Revenant” has received so far. Is it the protagonist’s hard-work or the direction or the unfavorable locations chosen in the film that has gripped viewers interest?

While DiCaprio manages to eat actual raw bison liver during shooting the film, he has done almost every small attempt to add perfection in his most anticipated role. The trailer of the film has revealed that it’s a story of revenge and about one’s spiritual journey.

Directed by  Alejandro Gonzalez Iñárritu, the movie that has been originally considered as a journey of revenge is actually somewhat different. Screenwriter Mark L. Smith reveals that he has written almost seven to eight drafts of the film before actually presenting it to the director.

DiCaprio suffered freezing conditions to play the role; the actor wanted to go a step further. Being nominated for 5 times for Academy Awards, it’s his bad-luck that he never got a chance to win one for being into the industry for past many years. “The Revenant” is all set to get released this Christmas.
