Ridley Scott Starts Looking for ‘Prometheus 2’ Filming Locations; Plot About Shaw and David’s Journey to ‘Paradise’
Ridley Scott just confirmed that he started working on “Prometheus 2” during an interview with an online magazine. Has the “Prometheus” sequel already have its release date? Read on for more details.
While the veteran alien director Ridley Scott, 77, was promoting “The Martian,” he revealed that the next film he is set to work on is “Prometheus 2.”
“I was already on to my next movie! I was starting to look for locations for my next movie, which is Prometheus 2,” Scott said via Empire Online.
This sure is good news for those fans who have been waiting for the development of “Prometheus 2.” The sequel is anticipated to be called “Paradise” and would follow around Elizabeth Shaw (Noomi Rapace) and the mysterious android David’s (Michael Fassbender) trek to the world of the Engineers.
“Prometheus 2” Production and Release Date
As for the production, previous reports said Scott would start it in January 2016. He reportedly said he needed to return in directing sci-fi, Total Film stated in its September 2015 issue via Scified.
There were also claims coming from alleged source saying Scott is pushing on “Prometheus 2” to be released first before Neill Blompkamp’s “Alien 5.” This implied that “Alien 5” would be released on 2018 and “Prometheus 2” on 2017.
Although this is 20th Century Fox’s current plan, the source said things could still change. So, they should be taken with a grain of salt.
The tip followed Michael Biehn’s update about the “Alien 5,” claiming that he had discussions with Blomkamp about it, which he said the fifth installment could possibly ignore “Alien 3” and “Alien 4” completely. But the insider doubted it and said it was too early for Biehn to tell.
One thing is certain though, “Prometheus 2” is coming very soon.
