Rihanna Preparing For The Diamond Ball: Another Glamorous Event For A Good Cause
Rihanna is one of the stars that recognizes how her fame and fortune can be translated into a meaningful instrument for others who are in dire need. She is currently preparing for the forthcoming Diamond Ball wherein it is expected to be attended by lots of celebrities. A goal of the said event is to accomplish a fundraising campaign to continue supporting more recipients.
According to Just Jared, the Diamond Ball which is now in its second year is scheduled to be held at Barker Hangar located in Santa Monica, California this upcoming Thursday, Dec. 10. the attendees will witness the live performance of Lionel Richie. Furthermore, the event will be hosted by Kevin Hart.
The Diamond Ball will also highlight the awarding ceremony wherein Michael Rapino will be the recipient of the Diamond Honors Award. Rapino is the co-founder of The Rapino Foundation and the CEO of Live National. The particular award is a recognition for an outstanding individual who have accomplished credible leadership both in the areas of entertainment and philanthropy. It also reflects the Clara Lionel Foundation’s mission of contributing for a better quality of living in the fields of culture, education, arts, and health.
Rihanna expressed her admiration and respect for the foundation.
“I’m so proud of the work the Clara Lionel Foundation has done in its first year and can’t wait to celebrate with the iconic Lionel Richie and incredibly talented Kevin Hart at this year’s Diamond Ball. This foundation is close to my heart and I am so grateful for Michael Rapino’s support and commitment to our cause. No one is more deserving of the first Diamond Honors Award than him.” Rihanna said.
Refinery29 reported that the first Diamond Ball is a massive success as the organizers were able to raise more than $2 million. The amount was used for the acquisition of two medical equipment for the Clara Braithwaite Center for Oncology and Nuclear Medicine at Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Celebrities including Brad Pitt, Kris Jenner, Ne-Yo, Kim Kardashian, and Big Sean graced the event.
Hopes are high for the second Diamond Ball of Rihanna as it is targeted to repeat or surpass the gathered funds last year.
