Sam Smith Explains His Weight Loss

The Grammy Award winner Sam Smith is a proud gay man but there is one thing which offends him more than the remarks on his sexuality, is his weight. The 22-year-old pop star has shed 14 pounds in 14 days and he still has to lose few more pounds to reach his target weight. Read on.

In the interview with the Australia’s 60 Minutes, the English singer and songwriter openly admitted that “he had used food to make himself feel better.”


According to the recent reports, Smith accepted the fact he loved food from the very beginning. He even mentioned that whenever he had a bad time either in his personal life or in professional, he ate as much as he could. When people remarked him about his sexuality, it didn’t affect him that much. It was because Sam knows that he cannot change his orientation, but he can control his eating habits.

Ever since then, Smith has been following a strict regime counselled by the nutritional therapist, Amelia Freer. In a post on Instagram, Smith captioned a picture: “[She] has completely transformed my relationship with food.”

Smith has won the award for the Best New Artist at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards. He has recently recorded another version of his hit song “Lay Me Down,” featuring John Legend. The re-released song topped the UK chartbusters.

Smith has been socially very active and is posting his fitness progress on Instagram. He did it by using the hashtag #eatnourishglow based on the name of the book by his therapist.
