‘Sandman’ Movie Update: Tom Hiddleston To Play Morpheus
“Sandman” movie has been in the development for a while now. The adaptation has been in works ever since back in 2013, when Warner Bros. announced that David S. Goyer would be producing an adaptation with Joseph Gordon-Levitt in the lead. The movie that went through quite some production hassles has some updates regarding the silver screen adaptation.
According to Crossmap, Joseph Gordon-Levitt has assured fans that Neil Gaiman created “Sandman” will definitely turn into a movie adaptation. The project currently has names like Joseph Gordon-Levitt, creator Neil Gaiman, screenwriter and director David S. Goyer and writer Jack Thorne. In a recent interview, Joseph also mentioned that instead of adapting the comics as a television series, it would be better if it gets adapted as a full-fledged feature film. The reason being that the characters created by Neil Gaiman will have all the chances and ways to explore themselves and take any shape they want to on the silver screen. With a television series, there are chances that one could mess it up since the comic is quite brilliant.
One more update about who could take on the role of Morpheus has been revealed. If sources are to be believed then Tom Hiddleston is being considered for the role of the Lord of Dreams.
Joseph also added that “Sandman” deserves to look visually grand and that can happen only when it will be adapted for the silver screen. Although some television shows are doing pretty great but visually they won’t be able to match a feature movie. Confessing to the fact that they will be reworking on the original material since they can’t adapt the entire thing just the way it is, he made sure to mention that they will be true to the overall sentiment of “Sandman.”
Other updates about the silver screen adaptation are not yet known, but it is being said that creator Neil Gaiman is suggesting Tom Hiddleston’s name for the role of Morpheus.
