Saturday Night Live: Bushwick, Brooklyn 2015 [WATCH VIDEO]
“Saturday Night Live” (SNL) is not one to shy away from pushing the envelope when it comes to highlighting social issues and taking a funny spin on things.
On Hulu, a video is going viral featuring “SNL” regular cast members, Kenan Thompson and Jay Pharoah, along with comedian Kevin Hart. The three plays the part of a group of guys hanging in a spot in Brooklyn. The comedy sketch goes to the preppy avenue when the three guys began talking about stuff like reviews on food, artisanal everything and other recipes labeled “you must try” at nearby restaurants.
Rolling Stone magazine has called the gentrification skit a subject matter that looks like a low-hanging fruit, in which the city’s aesthetics and demographics are transforming. It was amusing to watch Pharoah working out in a spinning class, sending text messages to his friends and hearing Thompson speak about wanting to get the time to relax and eat a gelato with his employer Carol and is revealed right after that Thompson works for her as a male nanny.
On the other hand, Hart’s scene involves him talking about knitting sweaters for his pet dogs. Pharaoh walks in and starts to talk about painting and wine drinking and pairing with several types of cheese.
This is where Pharaoh’s character received a verbal beat down for bringing up evites, even being told by Thompson’s character that he’s acting brooding, as if eating something with gluten.
As seen and heard by the amusement of the audience of the show, the sketch was seen as one the hit sketches that night receiving a lot of likes on Facebook.
