Scorpion Casting Update: Travis Van Winkle, Gene Simmons, and Kevin Weisman To Guest Star In Second Season
When it comes to television, having a guest star come along for an episode or two, or a multi-episode arc during a television show’s season is the norm. This, of course, at times, allows the show to get higher ratings, especially if the guest star is a high profile celebrity or star. This time around, in the upcoming second season of CBS’ “Scorpion,” audiences will, according to the reports, be greeting three very different and interesting guest star actors in the forms of a legendary rockstar; a US Navy Lieutenant; and the head of the technology department of a covert government agency. WARNING: This article contains spoilers regarding the second season of “Scorpion.” Read on only to learn more about the three guest stars who will be appearing in the upcoming season.
One of the three guest stars who will be appearing in the second season of “Scorpion,” who will be appearing in the fourth episode of the season, which is slated to appear in Oct. 2015, is “The Last Ship’s” Travis Van Winkle, according to a report on Entertainment Weekly.
In the episode that he will be guest starring in, his character, Ensign Nathan Hall, will find himself trapped on a sunken submarine, with Walter O’Brien (Elyes Gabel) and Homeland Security Agent Cabe Galle (Robert Patrick). Together, they will have to race against time in order to figure out how to get out before they ultimately run out of the air.
This piece of news is indeed quite interesting. It was especially since in the summer drama “The Last Ship,” where Van Winkle portrays US Navy Lieutenant Daniel Joshua “Danny” Green. His character, along with the crew of his ship, the USS Nathan James, are currently on the hunt of an enemy submarine.
Another report on Entertainment Weekly announced that the legendary rockstar, Gene Simmons, will be opening the second season. He will be guest starring in the premiere episode of the season.
The last in the trio of guest stars that one should expect to see in the upcoming season of “Scorpion” is “Alias’” Kevin Weisman. According to the report on Give Me My Remote, he will be portraying a character named Ray, Walter’s “non-genius” newfound friend.
According to the report, the two will meet due to a community service stint that Walter will have to do during the season. Even though he isn’t like Walter or the rest of the team, Walter quickly warms up to Ray, who gives him and the team a different take and perspective on things.
Also, in an interesting twist, Entertainment Weekly has announced that the second episode of the season will be a “supersized” episode. It will run for ninety minutes, instead of the usual one hour.
