Scorpion Season 2 Spoilers: What to Expect In The Premiere Episodes: “Waige” and other Relationships Teased

CBS sure knows how to make procedurals. After all, it is the home of shows such as “CSI” and “NCIS” which generated several spin-off shows, and is the home of the beloved “Hawaii Five-0” and the dystopic science fiction procedural, “Person of Interest.” Aside from these shows, the network is also home to a different kind of procedural show, “Scorpion.” It follows a group of genius misfits who help the government with different kinds of cases, which, more often than not, give them a little insight into themselves. Thankfully, those who loved watching these eccentric geniuses will delight in watching more of their hijinks as the cast is currently hard at work in preparation for the September premiere of the first episode of the upcoming second season, which, aside from their usual antics, will probably include a little more romance, due to the aftermath of the events of the first season finale. WARNING: This article contains spoilers regarding the upcoming second season of CBS’ “Scorpion”. Read on only to learn more about what will be happening next to Team Scorpion.

The freshman season of CBS’ quirky and action-packed procedural, “Scorpion,” ended on a high note. The Scorpion Team had raced against time to rescue their team leader, Walter O’Brien (Elyes Gabel). He had been quite close to falling into a ravine as his car had ended up quite literally, on the edge of a cliff.

There, Walter almost seemingly admitted his feelings for Paige Dineen (Katharine McPhee), the team’s liaison to “the real world”, and a single mother to Ralph Dineen (Riley B. Smith), who was also a genius. Paige herself also ended up admitting her feelings for Walter with a kiss, while Walter was in a medically-induced coma.

With these questions on the viewers’ and fans’ minds, one does begin to wonder whether the two will ever figure out their feelings for each other, and whether Walter will discover that Paige had kissed him.

According to the synopsis of the premiere episode of the second season that was released by TV Line, the two will indeed be confronting each other in this front as the security camera footage from the hospital will reveal to Walter that Paige had kissed him. However, with regards to whether or not they will be getting together, according to the interview that TV Line’s Michael Ausiello had with the cast during last month’s San Diego Comic-Con, McPhee revealed that she believed that the romance between the two is “still cooking.”

Not much, however, was said regarding the relationship between Eddie Kaye Thomas’ Toby Curtis and mechanical prodigy Happy Quinn, who is portrayed by Jadyn Wong. An overenthusiastic and very playful Thomas kept on trying to kiss Wong, who always successfully managed to push him away.

Gabel also mentioned that what will be interesting in the upcoming season, regarding the group’s family dynamic, are the reactions that will happen when things are revealed such as Paige’s kiss to Walter, which they didn’t know happened. There will be certain points when some members of the team are in the dark about the others, which, of course, isn’t great for a family. But how they react and deal with this is what becomes interesting.

With regards to relationships, Robert Patrick, who portrays the team’s government handler Cabe Gallo, mentioned that the trust between Walter and Cabe had been redeemed in the season finale, and that there are currently no more secrets between them.

The first episode of the second season, according to TV Line, will also be featuring a new face in the person of “Forever’s” Alana de la Garza. She will be portraying Homeland Security Director Adriana Molina. She was the one who contacts the team in order for them to prevent a “nuclear powered Russian satellite” before it lands and destroys the entire California area.

Also, it has been announced on Deadline that actor Riley B. Smith, who portrays Paige’s genius son Ralph, has been upgraded to series regular.
