Scott’s Prometheus sequel sends “Alien 5” of Blomkamp to developmental hell
Fans of science fiction film are always excited to watch a proper new “Alien” sequel — but with recent developments in few months it seems that Ridley Scott’s “Prometheus” sequel has left Neill Blomkamp’s proposed “Alien 5” on indefinite hold.
Initially the rumour spread that Blomkamp’s Alien 5 which he basically formed with awesome concept art, was set on fast track with stars like Sigourney Weaver and Michael Biehn in it but when Scott was serious about making his “Prometheus” followup “Alien: Paradise Lost” the studio kept Blomkamp’s “ Alien 5” to the backsit.
According to moviepilot.com few months back the rumours circulated in media “that because Scott was pushing through on Alien: Covenant he was causing a hold to be put on Alien 5, however Blomkamp himself dismissed these rumours and we all had a little sigh of relief. However they’ve come back in full force now, sparking fears that we might never get an Alien 5. Say it ain’t so!”
Recently, moviepilot.com sources further reported that Neill Blomkamp has tweeted in the month of October that Alien 5 is on hold and also confirmed that currently he will be working on other projects and at the same time he will wait to receive the green signal to continue works of “Alien 5”.
“While Alien 5 is still very much in the works, as Fox remains hot on the idea…. they’re being forced to hold off until after Ridley Scott gets into production on his long-gestured Prometheus sequel. This means a lengthy development process for Blomkamp’s Alien, and a potential release in 2018.” as added by the news sources of bloody-disgusting.com .
News sources of bloody-disgust.com also reports that Blomkamp has continued working on the script and has just refined the tale that he is telling so far that Ridley is still producing “Alien 5” , but has insisted on “Prometheus 2” being made first.
