‘Secrets and Lies’ Season 2 Spoilers and Ryan Philippe Confirms He’s Not Returning for Season 2

There’s good news and there’s bad news for “Secrets and Lies” fans out there. So, let’s start.

Okay, the show is confirmed for Season 2, which is great because “Secrets and Lies” has outdone itself. Most fans thought that it was just the usual detective small-town crime drama but that small town is indeed, bulging with secrets and its twists every episode were enough to intrigue and satisfy us. However, what’s going to happen now that the real killer is revealed?

Sadly, the bad news is that we won’t be able to see Ryan Philippe’s shirtless body anymore. In fact, no character from Season 1 will return except for Detective Andrea Cornell played by Juliette Lewis.

Philippe has expressed his thoughts on Twitter regarding “Secrets and Lies” Season 2:

“I’m so happy and excited for all involved that ‘Secrets and Lies’ will return for another season. Congrats to Juliette, Barbie Kligman, Aaron Kaplan and the writers. Since many people are confused, the first season revolved around an accused man, his suffering family, and how he sacrifices himself ultimately for them. that story was told completely and for the upcoming season, I know it will be just as emotional and compelling.”

A source has confirmed that Philippe’s presence in the show was really only planned for the first season.

That being said, the “Secrets and Lies” American version is really following the original Australian version, which where it is based from because every season opens up a new murder case and with that being said, there is a new murder case coming next season that Cornell will solve.
