Selena Gomez Posts Inspiring Message to Suicidal Fan on Instagram
When we hear a friend cry her heart out due to emotional pain, we would often contemplate on whether giving advice (though sometimes we don’t even know what we’re talking about) or give them space. In Selena Gomez’s case, she gave a personal message to soothe a struggling fan. Read on for more details.
According to GossipCop.com, Gomez took to Instagram to check out her fans on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015. Then, she reportedly saw through the Instagram account of a fan who seems to be going through some hard times and actually contemplating on committing suicide. Out of concern, she followed the said fan and posted a message on Instagram. Gomez later posted a screenshot of her message, carefully cutting out part of the pic that may have the fan’s name.
Disregarding a bit of grammatical error, Gomez took to talking to the fan and saying that she followed the fan to be able to send a personal message in her own words. She then proceeded to saying that God has reasons for placing people in tough situations and that there may be people out there who are experiencing worse.
“Your purpose is to share, help, encourage. Remember that. Please. Before you think of taking your life, think of all the [lives] you could save. I love you. More importantly there is a God that will love [you] more than I ever could.” Gomez said in her Instagram post.
According to Bustle, Gomez has always spent her time reaching to her fans way before through the social media and taking the time to write personal messages for that person. A few months ago, she also gave a helping hand to a fan who has seemingly just ended a relationship (not much of a surprise since Gomez herself just got off her own relationship). Also, around a year ago, she also intervened in what seemed to be a fan bullying another fan during their conversation.
