Shailene Woodley Breaks Dimensions in ‘Insurgent’ Super Bowl Trailer [WATCH VIDEO]
It’s only a matter of days before NFL Super Bowl XLIX finally begins, and 2015’s upcoming movies are turning their promotions up a notch. Summit Entertainment releases the new “Insurgent” trailer, and Tris (Shailene Woodley) is breaking through a dimension. Keep reading for details of this preview.
The last time everybody saw Shailene Woodley into the big screen was when she played the role of the melancholic cancer patient Hazel, who got her life changed, broken and renewed when she met her soul mate Gus (played by Ansel Egort). Now, she’s making a comeback in the sequel of her dystopic YA series, “Divergent” — “Insurgent” — as Tris Prior. In the first installment of the franchise, she played coy and scared and doubtful of herself, but things have changed for this second one. In “Insurgent,” her role gets bolder and fiercer and ready to kick some serious butt, whether it be dimensional or not.
According to Screen Rant, Tris Prior (Shailene Woodley) makes her comeback in setting things right in the society she grew up in. Sporting a new hairstyle, the trailer begins with Tris trapped in an observation room with tubes planted all over her body and Jeanine (Kate Winslet) studying her. Viewer’s initial impression would be if she’s going to get tortured, but that’s when the opposite happens. She breaks free from the tubes and through the glass, tackling her observer to shards along the way. The whole scene then shifts to her falling with the buildings breaking in her surroundings.
Here is the official synopsis of “Insurgent.”
Tris (Woodley) and Four (James) are now fugitives on the run, hunted by Jeanine (Winslet), the leader of the power-hungry Erudite elite. Racing against time, they must find out what Tris’s family sacrificed their lives to protect, and why the Erudite leaders will do anything to stop them. Haunted by her past choices but desperate to protect the ones she loves, Tris, with Four at her side, faces one impossible challenge after another as they unlock the truth about the past and ultimately the future of their world.
