Shia LaBeouf Jaywalks in Austin: Spends the Night in the Slammer
Shia LaBeouf is in trouble again. The actor who has always stayed in the limelight with his disorderly behavior was caught doing something interesting again. Apparently, LaBeouf first tried to force entry into a bar that was denying him a drink and then jaywalked in front of the police. The incidents took place in the entertainment district of Austin, Texas on Friday night. The actor was then charged as drunk and disorderly and was placed in prison for the night. He was subsequently released, presumably on the next day.
LaBeouf finds the strangest ways of getting into trouble. One hears about him trying to steal a homeless man’s hat or try to stop the broadway performance of “Cabaret” or even appearing in public with a paper bag over his head that said he wasn’t famous anymore. One wonder if these are all just random acts or is he trying to get attention.
At any rate, Friday night’s disruption seems somewhat ordinary compared to the ones he has pulled in into his life so far. The “Transformers” star was found drunk and disorderly and was trying to coax the bar personnel in a bar to serve him a drink late at night when they refused him admission. He apparently tried to force them to give him a drink, but they refused to oblige.
The police were called in and, to add fuel to an already raging fire, LaBeouf reportedly mocked the police by jaywalking in their presence. Needless to say, the authorities were not amused by the display and threw him into the slammer to mull over the possibility of acting repentant and behaving like a normal person again. He was out the next day; apparently the police was quite satisfied with his behavior in the slammer.
His publicist has confirmed that the actor is struggling with bouts of alcoholism.
BBC reported the news first.
