Shocking: Tommy Hilfiger Model, Sam Sarpong Commits Suicide
Sam Sarpong, the “Yo Momma” host committed suicide on Monday leaving behind a trail of fans in a doleful state. The 40-year-old Tommy Hilfiger model killed himself by jumping from a bridge into the Arroyo on Oct. 26.
A news release was provided to Hollywood Life by Pasadena Police Department. According to it, a witness saw “a male adult was standing on the outside of the railing of the Colorado Bridge, Pasadena, CA.” After the news reached the ears of authorities, several cops and fire fighters appeared on the scene.
The bridge was closed and access of the area below the bridge was made restricted for the public. It was clear that the model wanted to commit suicide, so the Pasadena Police Department Crisis Negotiation Team’s members tried to have a word with him.
While they were trying to do so, the model’s family came and they disclosed about his current emotional health. But sadly, after trying hard to communicate with the model for 7 hours, Sarpong finally jumped off the bridge. The Pasadena Fire Paramedics announced his death at 3:52 pm.
The Police Chief, Phillip Sanchez has given a statement, “It is sad and troubling when an individual has become so despondent that he or she feels their only option is to end their life.”
Sanchez also said that such incidents leave the loved ones devastated in a way and also leave an impact on the community. He added that he prays for the Sarpong’s family.
Sarpong had co-hosted the famous “Yo Momma” show with Wilmer Valderrama. He had also promoted Tommy Hilfiger brand as a model in past many years. He even worked in many television and film projects. Sarpong would also be remembered for his small role in “American Crime Story.” Fans wish his soul rests in peace.
