Did Your Show Make the Cut on CBS?
It is that time of the year again, the time when avid viewers and fans keep tabs on their favorite television shows to see whether their favorite television show made the cut in order to be renewed for another year. It is a time of both great excitement and of apprehension and disappointment as this week is that week in which cancellations, renewals, and the new network schedules for their newest offerings will be released. And according to The Hollywood Reporter, CBS has finally finalized what shows will be renewed. Read on to learn what shows made the cut to see another season on CBS.
According to The Hollywood Reporter,several veteran shows were renewed on The Eye, and several shows which just had their freshman run are returning for another season. This news just comes right on time as fans of various shows have been holding their breath to see whether their favorites will be returning.
According to the article, Patricia Arquette’s “CSI: Cyber”, a more high tech spin off of the flagship series, “CSI”, will live to see another season, while “CSI” itself is gearing up to conclude their own historic run.
Meanwhile, fans of the entire “NCIS” franchise will be glad to hear the news that the entire franchise will be returning next season. “NCIS: New Orleans”, it’s latest spin off, had been picked up for a second season early on during the year, along with the new political drama “Madam Secretary”, and “Scorpion”, a procedural featuring a team of geniuses. “NCIS” will be coming back for it’s thirteenth season, while “NCIS: Los Angeles” will be returning for it’s seventh season.
The dystopian procedural “Person of Interest”, starring Michael Emerson, Jim Caviziel, Kevin Chapman and Amy Acker, which had just concluded it’s fourth season with a bang, has also been renewed by CBS. However, according to a report on Deadline, it’s fifth season, so far, will contain only thirteen episodes, which makes it’s fans wonder if the fifth season will be it’s last.
Meanwhile, New York’s finest family of cops on “Blue Bloods” will be back for more Sunday dinners as the show has also been renewed for a sixth season. While viewers and fans will once more go back to the beautiful beaches Hawaii, as “Hawaii Five-0” has also been renewed for a sixth season, which will make it easier for fans, as the recently aired two hour season finale ended with a big cliffhanger.
Julianna Margulies’s “The Good Wife”, which aired back to back on Sundays with “Madam Secretary” will also be returning for another season, as well as the procedurals “Criminal Minds”, which has a new spin-off show, and “Elementary”, which features a more modern and different take on the Sherlock Holmes stories.
When it comes to comedies, the freshman show, “The Odd Couple”, a remake of the show of the same name, starring Matthew Perry, will also be returning for another season, which will accompany other renewed comedies such as “Mom”, “The Big Bang Theory” and “Mike & Molly”.
With regards to the unscripted shows, “Amazing Race”, “Survivor” and “Undercover Boss” will also be coming back come this fall.
