Simon Cowell Gives Permission For One Direction To Break Up And Pursue Solo Careers
Simon Cowell has given the boys of One Direction his blessing to go solo.
The 55-year-old music mogul has finally responded to One Direction breakup rumors. Cowell said he had no problems of allowing the band go their separate ways and work on solo problems, just as long as they stay in the group. Speaking to The Sun, he said he already gave his permission to Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson to pursue their other passions.
If it’s up to him, Cowell, would however suggest that the group stay together.
“I hear Harry is going to go solo all the time. My advice is they should stay together. They can still do things whenever they want. They should stay together,” he said.
MTV pointed out that Cowell’s decision was a result of One Direction losing out to Royal Blood for Best British Group at the recent Brit Awards 2015.
The “X Factor” judge is the one responsible for the enormous success of One Direcction. Cowell signed the heartthrobs to his record label after they won third place in the British talent show.
It wouldn’t come as a surprise if the boys decided to pursue their own solo career, outside One Direction. Zayn has been teaming up with Naughty Boy to explore his interest in rap, while Harry had worked on a duet with “All About That Bass” singer Meghan Trainor.
Harry has been in the center of rumors about leaving One Direction for a while now. The singer was allegedly disappointed for having to turn down acting jobs because of his tour. According to Metro, American film producer Harvey Weinstein had been so impressed of Harry’s potential that he didn’t need to audition for a part.
“We offered him a part and he couldn’t do the movie because he had the tour. The amount of money their tour did is crazy, so he’s got obligations,” Weinstein revealed.
