Fresh from their yoga session, Ichabod and Abbie decide to get a drink to calm Ichabod down. At the bar the, a fight breaks out, and Abbie decides to break up the fight, only to bump in into an old face, Sheriff Corbin’s son Joe, played by Zach Appelman.

Abbie learns that Joe Corbin has returned to town from Afghanistan after being honorably discharged from the army. But when she attempts to reach out to him, he doesn't want to, as he resents her and blames her for his father's death.

Later that night, Ichabod and Abbie check out a noise complaint, only to find deadbodies and an encounter with a strange creature. As they search for more clues, they find out the only survivor in the attack — Joe. Joe mutters something about his father and the recent attack.

At the hospital, Abbie tries to reach out to Joe again, only to be shut down for a second time.

Meanwhile, Henry tells Irving that he will need to kill the man who crippled Macey to reclaim his soul but refuses to do so.

Back at the archives, Ichabod and Abbie learn that the creature responsible for the deaths is a Wendigo, a monster who feeds on human organs when it smells blood. Ichabod concludes that Joe might be the Wendigo, turning out to be correct as Abbie checks Joe’s records. Ichabod recalls the story of Squire Boone, brother of Daniel Boone, or as Abbie calls him, “the guy with a raccoon on his head.” It turns out that Daniel only wore the hat to hide the scars he received from his brother who bore similar symptoms of being a wendigo.

Ichabod and Abbie check out Joe’s place, to which Ichabod discovers the so called “videogame.” Abbie finds Sheriff Corbin’s last will for Joe, revealing a coordinates to where they might find his whereabouts. The duo sets out to find Joe and manages to track him down in the woods, until a mishap happens when Ichabod gets wounded. Joe urges them to run as he starts to transform into the Wendigo. Abbie manages to shoot down the creature with tranquilizers and captures it.

Back at their hideout, Abbie, Ichabod, Jenny and Hawley feed the Wendigo organs to transform back into Joe. They learn that Joe was cursed by Henry when he was sent a letter containing a white powder. So that’s what the bone flute was for. In order for him to be cured, Henry wants Joe to trade the box his father left him. They learn that the box contains a very powerful poison.

Abbie and Hawley learn that by its fourth transformation, the effects of becoming a Wendigo becomes permanent, so in spite of not wanting to partner up, Hawley and Ichabod set out to find a Shawnee tribe to ask for a cure.

Joe listens on as Abbie reminisces about his father, but they are interrupted by Henry who bursts in their hideout demanding the poison. Joe hands it to him and is later tricked when Henry cuts his arm, and he transforms again.

Meanwhile at the psych ward, Irving manages to almost kill his target until he realizes that that’s what Henry would’ve wanted, until he is stopped by the guards.

The group then sets out to find Joe to cure him or, worse, kill him. They manage to track and trap the creature. Ichabod then recites a Shawnee incantation to return Joe to human form forever, to which doesn’t seem to work, prompting Abbie to kill the Wendigo, but refuses, telling Ichabod to give it some time. The cure works as Joe transforms back into human form.

Abbie shows Joe the archives and what his father was working on. It was nice to see how Ichabod was coping up with modern technology as he is seen playing an online video game. Abbie receives a call from Irving, telling her that Henry owns his soul. Abbie promises that they will do something about it.

Meanwhile, Henry unleashes a deadly spider made from the poison which enters Katrina’s mouth.
