Sofia Vergara Plans to Have IVF Babies with Fiancé Joe Manganiello
As she prepares to walk down the aisle, Sofia Vergara reveals that she would like to have children soon with her soon-to-be husband Joe Manganiello. But due to some circumstances, she’s resolved to have her babies via IVF.
On Christmas Eve, after almost six months of dating, Manganiello popped the question to Vergara as they were basked by the sunset glow, according to E! News. And now, as they are getting everything settled for their wedding, the couple has been receiving questions on their plans of raising children.
Apparently, Vergara confirmed that she does want to have kids as soon as possible with Manganiello. However, this could prove to be rather a problem for them. In 2000, Vergara was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. Thankfully, she was treated thanks to an operation and radioiodine therapy. However, even though the radiation treatment cured her, a side effect is the possibility that she may no longer be able to bear a child.
But it seems Vergara already had things pretty much worked out and has even prepared for it way before she dated Manganiello. According to HollywoodLife.com, the couple have planned to use in-vitro fertilization (IVF) to have their baby. In fact, Vergara has already started it out by freezing her eggs back when she was still with her ex-fiancé Nick Loeb. And even though things didn’t work out between her and Loeb, she finally gets another chance with Manganiello.
Though the couple have already settled on the idea of having an IVF baby, there’s also a good chance that they will have their baby via a surrogate mother, again because of the radiation risk that Vergara has. Nevertheless, we can only hope for the best for the couple and that they will have the family they’ve always wanted to have together.
