‘Stuart Little’ Remake In The Works! Sequel Set 16 Years After First Film
Almost after a decade, the adorable iconic little mouse is headed back to the theaters, courtesy of Sony Pictures and Red Wagon Entertainment. The hybrid live-action/animation mouse follows the adventures of the titular mouse and the Littles.
The Tracking Board was first to report the return of Stuart Little for another cinematic success. The new film comes more than 16 years after the original released.
The upcoming movie is more of an adaptation of E. B. White’s 1945 children’s book of the same name rather than a remake of the franchise. The reinvention is being produced by Douglas Wick and Lucy Fisher, while Lucas Wiesendanger will oversee for Red Wagon.
Stuart Little has become a mainstay in children’s literature and a classic in its own way. The 1999 film, earned $300 million at the box office and the sequel Stuart Little 2, 2002 earned more than $169 million. The success of the films led to a short-lived animated series that also featured the talents of Laurie.
Before the newest kind-hearted, well- dressed mouse, comes into filming, Red Wagon is yet to release the final two chapters of the popular Divergent franchise, as well as a remake of cult teen classic The Craft. So as of now, there is no word when this updated Stuart Little might hit the theaters.
