‘Spectre’: Our Expectations From The Movie
“Spectre”, the twenty-fourth installment in the James Bond franchise will be out in theatres this November. Given the time frame it has in its hand, one can expect promotions for the movie really kicking off in full swing. Buzz about the movie has been really positive ever since the first teaser trailer of the movie was released. It was followed by an official poster that featured Daniel Craig in the titular role as the British spy. There are certain things that we expect from the movie and think the movie should potentially have.
First of all, excitement about Christoph Waltz’s involvement in the movie as the main antagonist was even more than when Bond is showed back on field. In the teaser trailer, Waltz’s character is shown in the shadows and given this shadowy look that featured, many fans have been speculating that he could play the franchise’s most powerful villain yet, Ernst Stavro Blofeld. However, the background of the movie (whatever has been revealed till now) shows Mr. Waltz playing a character called as Franz Oberhauser. There are chances that he could be the son of Hans Oberhauser, who was Bond’s skiing instructor and a father figure after the spy’s real parents died. In the coming months, the makers should offer some type of clarification on what character Mr. Waltz would be playing in the movie.
Secondly, we have seen Bond being vulnerable enough in the previous installment “Skyfall”, so this time it would be good to see Bond in his original avatar and that being the man who destroys anything and everything he enters. Especially when you have the most sinister organization re-entering the franchise, Bond anyways will have to step up and take charge before any potential damage is done.
Thirdly, Mr. White aka Jesper Christensen has kept everyone thinking enough about how deep his or his organization Quantum’s connections are, its time makers give the character some change because all we have seen him doing in the teaser is commenting on Bond, which was something like what he did in the previous two installments “Casino Royale” and “Quantum of Solace”. Other important aspects in the movie would be to explore how well Ralph Fiennes aka Gareth Mallory handles his new position as the new M in MI6. It also applies to Ben Whishaw and Naomie Harris who will be reprising their roles as Q and Moneypenny from “Skyfall”.
Ultimately with Dave Bautista, Monica Bellucci and Lea Seydoux’s addition in the movie, it would be interesting to see what elements they individually bring in the upcoming movie.
