‘Star Trek 3’ is now ‘Star Trek Beyond’ and Possible Spoilers

Director Justin Lin revealed the great news for all the Trekkies. “Star Trek 3” will now be officially called as “Star Trek Beyond.” Lin, who is popular,y known for his work in “Better Luck Tomorrow” and “The Fast & The Furious” 3-6, will be directing “Star Trek Beyond” which will serve as a sequel to 2013 instalment by the “Star Trek” franchise, “Star Trek Into Darkness.” Read on.

Justin Lin tweeted the news on Monday:“Let the next Starfleet voyage begin! #StarTrekBeyond #LLAP”


Hashtag #LLAP is a tribute to iconic actor Leonard Nimoy, who died in February after suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease at age 83 and, Spock’s legendary catchphrase, “Live long and prosper.” Lin tweeted with an image which shows off team’s delta uniform shield emblem.

Chris Pine will be seen reprising his role of Captain James T. Kirk. Also, reprising their roles are Zachary Quinto, Pegg, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, and Anton Yelchin. New casting includes Idris Elba and Sofia Boutella. Screenplay will be by screenplay by Doug Jung and Simon Pegg.

“Star Trek Beyond” is set to release on July 8, 2016. Principal photography has just begun on June 25, 2015 in Vancouver and Squamish, British Columbia. There had been a lot of delay in filming as the script has been rejected many times.

In an interview with the Guardian, Pegg had revealed that the new “Star Trek” won’t be forgetting its roots and will be about ‘frontierism and adventure and optimism and fun.’

*Spoilers Alert*

The new movie by the franchise “Star Trek Beyond” is believed to be in hardcore science fiction.  Since, “Star Trek Beyond” will be releasing on the TV show’s 50th anniversary, it will have more than one cameo. There is for sure going to be a tribute for Nimoy and may be we’ll see Shatner too.
