“May the force be with you” is one of the widely known quotes from the “Star Wars” franchise. It seems like the movie has definitely left its force with its fans, as the new “Star Wars” film is the most anticipated film of 2015. What other films are on the list? Read on for more details.

The year 2015 appears to be a banner box office for filming studios, and it looks like “The Avengers” has met its rival as “Star Wars: Episode VII: The Force Awakens” is the most anticipated film of 2015, according to a survey lead by Fandango. The online ticketing company opened a poll to survey 1,000 film fans from Dec. 22 to Dec. 29, 2014. “Star Wars: Episode VII: The Force Awakens” is set for a Dec. 18, 2015 release. “Avengers: Age of Ultron” is the second most anticipated film in 2015.

“Mockingjay – Part 2,” the fourth and final installment to “The Hunger Games” franchise, ranks third. Lionsgate’s “Mockingjay – Part 2” is set to be released on Nov. 20, 2015. Its previous installment, “Mockingjay – Part 1” was Fandango’s most anticipated film of 2014 and is currently the second highest grossing film in 2014, next to “Guardians of the Galaxy.”

“Fifty Shades of Grey,” a movie based on a best-selling erotic novel, is the fourth most anticipated film of 2015. The movie is the only film on the list that isn’t a sequel. “Jurassic World” completes the top five.

Aside from the most anticipated films of 2015, the ticketing company also surveyed the fans’ favorite stars and breakthrough performers for next year’s movies.

Jennifer Lawrence is the Fan Favorite Actress in 2015 movies, followed by Scarlett Johansson, who will star in “Avengers: Age on Ultron” and Angelina Jolie in “By the Sea.”

Robert Downey Jr., who will play Iron Man in “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” was voted as the fans’ favorite actor in 2015 movies. Behind Downey is Chris Hemsworth, who will star in three different movies in 2015 and Daniel Craig for the most-awaited next installment to the James Bond franchise “Spectre.”

Jamie Dornan of “Fifty Shades of Grey” is the biggest male breakout star while Daisy Ridley in the “Star Wars” franchise is the biggest female breakout star.

The most-anticipated family movie in 2015 is Universal’s next installment in the “Despicable Me” franchise, “Minions,” followed by “Cinderella” and “Inside Out.”

Of course, surveys cannot predict how a movie will fare in the box office. Take a look at “Guardians of the Galaxy,” it was never in Fandango’s list of most anticipated films of 2014, and yet it’s the highest grossing film as of this date.
