Star Wars Fans And Their 7 Weirdest Theories Of ‘The Force Awakens’

Not much is known about the actual plot of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”. This is despite the fact that there has been no scarcity in trailers, movie stars who are seen chatting and TV spots.

J.J. Abrahams is always known to be quite close-guarded about the twists in the plots of his films. So it does not come as a surprise when we find that the Internet has been flooded with several fan theories to fill the vacuum.

Some of these fan theories can sound extremely illogical. Here are seven “crazy” fan theories about the movie and the reasons why they could be incorrect.

1. Is Jar Jar Binks A Sith Lord?

This first fan theory states that Binks is the galaxy’s strongest Sith Lord. Jar Jar was the one who was responsible for the rise of Palpatine, as he became the Emperor and the reason why the Galactic Republic collapsed. Since he was so powerful, it should not come as a surprise if he is alive when the story upcoming episode of Star Wars unfolds.

2. Luke Skywalker is perhaps on the dark side or is Kylo Ran

The unmistakable question that hovers around the trailers of the “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is the whereabouts of Luke. These innumerable questions have perhaps given rise to another popular fan theory that somehow Luke Skywalker is Kylo Ren. However, it may be a weak theory as even a single shot of Luke has not been seen to date and so no one has seen how he actually looks like.

Luke has transformed into a dark side can be a passable theory, though this does not carry much of a weight age. Assuming that Luke would follow the footsteps of his dad seems to be little cheap.

3. Boba Fett is returning

If you have seen the movie’s first trailer, there was a banner that had some Mandalorian symbols and we all know that Boba Fett comes from Mandalor. This is one such character who had a tragic demise in the earlier “Return of the Jedi”. But did he? Apparently, Ferr survived his big fall and will have a face-off once again with Han Solo, his nemesis.

4. Is Finn Leia and Lando’s son?

This is a fan theory that perhaps has its origin partially from racism and partially from the inappropriately labeled merchandise of Star Wars but can a son of Leia and Lando end up as a Stormtrooper? Well, we are not sure about this till the movie hits the theaters.

5. Hans or Chewbacca passes away

In the first trailer of the film, Rey is seen breaking down into tears and grieving over someone’s body. Did you spot a furry body? While no one can be sure of this, this vague scene has led to several theories on who would be the casualty in this movie. If you remember, legendary Hollywood actor Harrison Ford had wished that Hans should have a heroic death in the film “Return of the Jedi”. It could perhaps be Abram’s turn to grant that wish to him but if Chewbacca is a casualty, it could be rather mean. However, there is a high probability for the correctness of this fan theory as Abraham has shown his tendency of killing the loved characters in his films.

6. Kylo Ren and Rey are twins

This theory does not seem to be unfamiliar. An unexpected kinship between these two cannot be ruled out entirely but do you all really believe that the director would do that again? This theory states that both of them were twin kids of Leia or Luke who were lost when they were kids and eventually got separated but Kylo idolizes Darth Vader, who has two children: Leia and Luke. We are not very sure of Kylo as far as this fan theory goes.

7. Darth Vader is alive

Can anyone be alive even when the person’s ghost can be seen when “Return of the Jedi” ends? But this fan theory claims it’s all about “clones”. The theory that holds that Vader is alive can be a bit far-fetched, as it could possibly ruin a carefully shot dead scene.

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” will hit theaters on December 18.
