‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Director J.J. Abrams Responds To Fans’ Speculation Of A Post-Credit Scene
It became a common plot line now for some movies to have a post-credit scene. It makes the spectators stay until all names behind the film are displayed in the screen and it often shows if there is a sequel or a prequel of the movie in the next installment. Since “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” will be out in the next week, some fans are speculating it will also have post-credits.
However, director JJ Abrams had burst the bubble of these hopeful fans. According to Cinemablend, in a press conference last Dec. 6, Sunday, he said, “No, there’s not. All the scenes are actually in the movie.” So the moviegoers will focus on everything within the duration of the entire film before the credits.
This isn’t the only thing confirmed that is not included in the latest Star Wars installment. Variety reported that Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy explained that the Jar-Jar, CGI character from the last trilogy is not a part too.
“Jar-Jar’s definitely not in the movie Ewoks are not in the movie, just because Harrison [Ford] insisted,” Kennedy said.
Kennedy also pointed out there are a lot in store for fans in Episode VII. She said, “Right from the beginning, we respected the fans and the fans have really been the ones focused around making sure that everybody and anybody who walks into this movie gets to be surprised. We have so little things that surprise us anymore when we walk in to see a movie — it’s all told in the trailers; it all ends up online way in advance… That’s really all that’s driving [the secrecy].”
Even if no post-credit scenes are included, fans are still thrilled and excited to see “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”. After all they waited for more than a decade for this latest episode.
