‘Star Wars’ Spinoff Movie Focus On Boba Fett’s Story; Premieres On 2016
Disney and Lucasfilm are reportedly working on a “Star Wars” spin off movie based on Boba Fett. The movie, set to release in 2018, will narrate the story of Boba Fett’s origin.
According to The Wrap, the second movie in “Star Wars” anthology film will focus on one of the most famous yet mysterious character in the franchise, Boba Fett. The character has since drew a huge following since the first movie, even though he had relatively little screen time. Boba Fett was reportedly first introduced as a bounty hunter hired to look for Han Solo and Princess Leia. In the prequel movie, it has been revealed that Boba Fett is in fact a clone of Jango Fett, another bounty hunter.
According to Business Insider, the “Star Wars” spinoff movie could possibly follow the life of Boba Fett after the prequel movies. As previously reported, Disney and Lucasfilm have confirmed that aside from the three “Star Wars” movie, they are also working on three additional spin offs—the first called “Rogue One” which is set to premiere in 2016. The spin off will focus on how the Rebels had successfully stolen the Death Star plans from the Empire.
Neither Disney nor Lucasfilm has yet to confirm whether the plot for the second spin off movie will focus on Boba Fett. It is also unclear on who will direct the film given that Josh Trank has exited the “Star Wars” spinoff.
“I’m making a personal decision to move forward on a different path. I’ve put a tremendous amount of thought into this, and I know deep down in my heart that I want to pursue some original creative opportunities,” he said in a statement.
