Read on to find out more about “If I Stay” starring Chloë Grace Moretz.

“If I Stay” Movie Synopsis:

“If I Stay” is based on the young-adult novel of the same name written by Gayle Forman. It is also her first novel, which was published in 2009. The upcoming drama-thriller film adaptation is directed by director R.J. Cutler (“The War Room,” “The September Issue”) and written by Shauna Cross ( “Derby Girl”).

The story centres on the life of a young virtuoso cellist named Mia Hall (Chloë Grace Moretz). Hall’s world revolves around her family, friends and her rocker boyfriend named Adam (Jamie Blackley). She also dreams of attending the prestigious Julliard School of Music to continue her musical career as a cellist.

At first, her world was just torn between her personal feelings for her boyfriend and the future of her professional career until it was all swiped away by an unfortunate accident. Mia, her mom Kat (Mireille Enos) and dad Denny (Joshua Leonard) got involved in a car mishap. The accident led to the death of her parents and Mia in a comatose state.

Then, Mia had an extraordinary out-of-the-body experience where she woke up seeing herself in a hospital. Eventually, she will learn that she must decide and she only got one choice that may lead to her ultimate fate.

It seems that teen actress  Chloë Grace Moretz already grew up before our very eyes! From her roles as Ryan Reynold’s kid in the horror film “The Amityville Horror” to the R-rated cussing Hit-Girl in “Kick-Ass,” the 17-year old actress not only grew physically but also her film career flourished.

Her previous notable films were “500 Days of Summer” (2009), “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” (2010), “Let Me In” (2010), “Hugo” (2011), “Dark Shadows” (2012) and “Movie 43” (2013).

Aside from starring in the film adaptation of the young adult-novel, she will also appear in several upcoming 2014 films including “Dark Places” starring Charlize Theron and Nicholas Hoult and “The Equalizer” with Denzel Washington, Marton Csokas, Melissa Leo and Haley Bennett.

In an interview with MTV News, she shared that she had been practicing how to play a cello just to work with the acclaimed documentary director.

Just to work with R.J. Cutler. He’s such a brilliant director, and he’s so in-depth and so interesting to work with. It’s kind of crazy to take on a role like this. It’s an MGM movie. It’s a big movie. It’s going to be great. It’s a huge novel by Gayle Forman.” Moretz told MTV News.

She said that she knew that the novel has a huge fan base among readers. She also shared that she treated it as a challenge to capture the feeling of young love.

“The readers are very serious about me and Adam, and they really need that palpable relationship, and for me, I just want to go in there and create that relationship with Jamie,” Moretz added.

Even before its initial release, Rotten Tomatoes reported that 94% users are excited to see “If I Stay.”
