Stefanie Scott Stars in Insidious: Chapter 3
According to Deadline, teen sensation Stefanie Scott will be seen in the silver screen as soon as she is done working with the horror movie “Insidious: Chapter 3.” The thriller is set to open in theaters in April 2015. Rose Byrne and Patrick Wilson will no longer be joining the third installment of the film as it promises to bring forth a different kind of eeriness into the franchise. After brimming over the success of the first two films (“Insidious,” “Insidious: Chapter 2”), they now take a step back and hand the lead role to the young star.
Presently, Scott stars as Kimber Benton in Blumhouse’s upcoming live adaptation of the ’80s classic cartoon “Jem and the Holograms.” She is also part of “In a Valley of Violence” alongside Ethan Hawke, Karen Gillan and James Ransone. The TV actress is also known after starring recently in one of Disney’s high school sitcom, “A.N.T Farm.” She has also made an appearance in the features “Flipped” and “No Strings Attached.”
The 17-year-old actress has a huge role to fill in as the majority of the audiences are used to the theatrical intensity of Byrne and Wilson, although Blumhouse did a slick move when they cast Scott in their series. It is also without a doubt that Byrne and Wilson are very much in demand in the industry, so their availability for the third installment would appear to be sketchy. Besides, the Lamberts have been through enough psychological, emotional and physical trauma to last more than their own lifetime.
With the writer assuming the role of the director, Leigh Whannell holds yet another promising success on the third movie, a product of his imaginative mind. Majority of the details of the upcoming franchise is still kept under a serious hush-hush. However, speculations suggest the imminent presence of the shadowy demon who tormented the Lamberts in the first and second installments. The ending of the second chapter also hints the recurring appearances of Specs (Leigh Whannell), Tucker (Angus Sampson) and Elise Rainer (Lin Shaye).
It would seem that once Stefanie Scott is able to portray her roles well, she is to assume the scream queen spot of the decade.
