Steve Carell Replaces Bruce Willis In Woody Allen’s Next Film
Academy Award nominated actor Steve Carell has replaced Bruce Willis in the untitled Woody Allen next, due to the latter’s scheduling conflicts. Read on to know more details.
In what seems to be a very strange replacement, funny guy Steve will replace rugged action hero Bruce in the upcoming Woody Allen film. Bruce Willis had joined the crew and his photos on the set were all over the internet, but reportedly he has backed out of the project due to date issues. It is being suggested that Willis left the project to work on bringing Stephen King’s “Misery” to Broadway, because he had already made commitments. Although, according to ComingSoon.net, other rumors suggest that Woody timely discovered that the “Die-Hard” star was not right for the role.
Carell has previously worked with Allen but that was a decade ago in “Melinda and Melinda” and it will be interesting to see how he performs now that he is an Oscar nominated actor. His performance in “Foxcatcher” was lauded with a Best Supporting Actor nod. Working with Woody might help him to another nomination, depending upon the role.
Earlier, it was reported that the new film will see Kristen Stewart and Jesse Eisenberg in an intimate lip lock. Photos of their kiss emerged and it looks like it’s a period film or a film based in the retro era. The film also stars Parker Posey, Blake Lively, Jeannie Berlin, Ken Stott, Corey Stoll, Anna Camp, Sari Lennick, Paul Schneider and Stephen Kunken.
Allen is filming in Los Angeles after decades and therefore this new film is getting a lot of attention even before it’s given a title, which is very rare for a Woody Allen film. Allen will also go to New York to shoot some scenes, besides filming in LA.
