DID STEVE HARVEY’S OVER CONFIDENCE LEAD TO THE MISS UNIVERSE GOOF UP?
Miss Universe 2015 would be remembered by all not for the usual reasons such as tipping off by the finalists while sashaying the ramp or wardrobe malfunction. It is for a mistake that has never occurred in the history of Miss Universe pageant i.e. wrong crowning of the winner by the host Steve Harvey.
Just before announcing the winner of the much awaited show “Miss universe”, the hosting veteran claimed that he was “born ready” to announce the winners of the prestigious show. Now is it his overconfidence that resulted in the blunder? Let’s find out.
Harvey, who hosted the entire show pretty well, goofed up at the final moment when Miss Colombia was declared the winner instead of Miss Philippines. Harvey’s mistake came as a rude shock not only to the finalist but also to millions of people across the globe. In fact, if we have guessed correctly, he was himself shocked and apologized profusely soon after he realized his mistake.
Prior to the live show, the host was heard saying E! News that “I was born ready for this. I’m the guy,” He also mentioned “I’m here representing all men — all men who love swimsuits and gowns and makeup and hair and walks in high-heel shoes.” This clearly shows he was very confident about his ability to deliver the role perfectly and did not foresee any such incident which would leave him red faced in front of everybody.
Just before declaring the winners, he even joked that since he would be on live telecast and there would not be any rehearsal for declaring the final winners of the Miss Universe pageant 2015, there is no chance to edit also. But now we assume that he really wished that there was some editing possible after he committed such a big mistake! In fact he is so embarrassed by his mistake that he wants to go into hiding as disclosed by a source to Hollywood Life
The matter did not end with committing the mistake. Steve Harvey had to apologies and declare the correct winner live just as he had committed the mistake. He not only apologized live but also took to other social media pages such as Face book and Twitter to express his regret as well. Miss Universe Pageant on the other hand has released a statement citing the monstrous flub as simple human error and congratulated the winner and express deep regret to the family and fans of Miss Colombia and Miss Philippines.
