Steven Spielberg’s New Cold War Pic; Participant Media and DreamWorks New Film Collaborations

The movie industry has certainly been going in an endless roll, with films sprouting out in every portion of the year and the coming year’s datelines. Directorial position veteran Steven Spielberg is currently working on the development of his two films, and he is resuming the partnership of Participant Media and DreamWorks Studios, along with Fox.
According to Deadline, this upcoming film bears a storyline that is ridden with heavy drama. It is based on actual events that transpired during the time of the Cold War. This spy tale revolves around an attorney deployed by the CIA to take part in actual negotiations, ordering the release of a captured American U-2 pilot. This is the story of James Donovan, who will be played on screen by award-winning actor Tom Hanks. Starring alongside Hanks are Mark Rylance and Amy Ryan. The film’s script is put together in creative collaboration by Joel and Ethan Cohen.
The filming for this pic is set to begin next month within the territories of New York and Berlin. Apart from taking the directorial position, Spielberg will also be producing the film together with Marc Platt and Kristie Macosko Krieger. With this, Adam Somner and Daniel Lupi are executive producing the film, with 20th Century Fox co- financing and handling the international distribution. Domestically wise, As per The Hollywood Reporter, Disney will be taking the lead and is setting its release on Oct. 16, 2015.
Maintaining the production partnership, DreamWorks Studios and Participant Media are also working together for another project with director Derek Cianfrance in “Light Between Oceans.” Based on the novel by M.L. Stedman, the film adaptation is centered on a lighthouse keeper and his wife, who made a life-changing decision adapting a two-month-old infant that was carried by a washed out boat with a dead man. The movie will be starred by Michael Fassbender, Alicia Vikander and Rachel Weisz. It shall be produced by David Heyman of Heyday Films and Jeffrey Clifford as it begins filming next month New Zealand and Australia.
