‘Suicide Squad’ Aiming for a PG-13 Rating; Why Joker is Not the Villain in the Movie?

After all that you have seen in the movie, it would be pretty obvious to figure out where the makers of “Suicide Squad” are going with this one. As far as the tone of the movie is concerned, makers have been able to achieve what they were really looking for but when the rating goes- “Suicide Squad” is aiming for a PG-13 rating.

According to A.V.Club, many fans (including me) thought “Suicide Squad” would be another R-rated movie that will be hitting our screens next year after “Deadpool” makes its mark, but as far as producer Charles Roven is concerned, “Suicide Squad” would be on the edge of PG-13 but still PG-13.

Given the fact that there would be excessive amount of violence and presumably strong language not suitable for children under 18, DCEU probably will have to pull a lot of strings so that they don’t fall in the R rated zone. DCEU’s other venture “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” has already been rated PG-13 for its sensuality and scenes of violence so having a team of bad guys shooting and taking down other bad guys might just be a bit more than PG-13.

Despite this, Producer Charles Roven maintains that with each movie, they want to make the DC Extended Universe tonally consistent and said that both “Suicide Squad” and “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” look different visually.

In other news, we would like to point out why the Joker might not even be the main villain of the movie. After all that’s said about the maniac, “Suicide Squad” might not have much to do except for popping up in a flashback sequence.

We all know “Suicide Squad” was formed to carry out covert ops for the Government and one such mission was to take down the Joker, but Movie Pilot reports that Enchantress is perhaps the only other evil character in the movie apart from the Joker.

Since Enchantress is an ancient sorcerer who is 100% crazy and has the power to endanger the world, “Suicide Squad” will be assigned to take her down. Joker is one such character that can be used in other DC movies too like the solo Batman movie. The media outlet speculated that maybe she is the one who will manipulate the Joker and his gang and force them to commit crimes for her.

Only time will tell who is the craziest of them all and what has really forced these villain’s hands to help the good side.

“Suicide Squad” will release on August 5th next year.
