‘Suicide Squad’ Budget Disclosed; Ike Barinholtz Tells Stories From The Set
Ike Barinholtz took the opportunity to tell insane stories from behind the set of “Suicide Squad,” an upcoming anti-hero movie that will be the third installment of the DC Extended Universe. The “MAD TV” alumni recently had a guest appearance in “The Howard Stern Show” and revealed some details regarding the movie, including its budget and a few anecdotes about his co-stars.
According to Batman News, Barinholtz disclosed that the budget for the film was estimated to amount upwards of $250 million! This is evident in that the film boasts an all-star cast, an ensemble featuring such personalities as Will Smith (as Deadshot), Jared Leto (The Joker), Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), and Cara Delevingne (Enchantress). He also hinted at some really wacky stories regarding the behavior of the actors on-set. At some point the set has been transformed into a makeshift tattoo parlor. Margot Robbie’s character Harley Quinn had a tattoo gun and would reportedly get drunk and give free tattoos to everyone. One poor guy even ended up with a typo.
For starters, reports from We Got This Covered told us that when it comes to crazy behavior, though, it wasn’t surprising that the Joker would bring the cream of the crop. Jared Leto owned up to his character as the Shakespearean Clown Prince of Crime by once handing Robbie a box while having reportedly said, “Present for Ms. Quinn.” Robbie opens the box and out pops a giant live rat, freaking everyone in the set out. Not satisfied with the antic, the Joker returns with a dead pig and throws it on the table saying, “This is for the squad from Mr J.” as bullets start to come out of the dead meat. And keep in mind that this is way before they even started shooting the film!
While Barinholtz seems to be generous with giving out details about “Suicide Squad,” one thing he’s stingy about is the identity of the character he’s playing. Granted, it was Warner Bros. directive that told him not to reveal what part he’s playing, but there’s evidence that suggests that Barinholtz will be playing the part of a SWAT Team Member.
“Suicide Squad” is directed by David Ayer and is scheduled to hit theatres on August 2016.
