‘Suicide Squad’: Our Expectations From the Movie
In the wake of superhero movies beginning to rule the box office with their massive openings and humongous collections, many were quite skeptical when Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment’s “Suicide Squad” was announced. The super villain ensemble will have every major villain that has graced the DC Cinematic Universe with his or her vicious plans and classy tricks. Allow us to present our expectations from the movie.
Amanda Waller was the person who assembled “Suicide Squad” or Task Force X and the ones who were recruited for the super villain team were Deadshot, Rick Flagg, Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, Killer Croc, and Enchantress amongst others. This move from Miss Waller raised concerns from many superheroes especially from the Batman who personally visited her and made her aware of the consequences of what could happen if “Suicide Squad” were to go rogue. We just have one major expectation from the movie and this expectation is apart from entertaining fans and giving them another movie to remember and discuss about, the movie should somehow set up the DC Cinematic Universe and make way for it’s much bigger movies that will be releasing in the years to come.
One major movie in the upcoming releases from the DCCU is undoubtedly “Justice League”, which is being touted as one of the best superhero movies from the banner. Reason for this is the villains who will be featuring in “Suicide Squad” could very well star in other movies as well and doing what they do the best: being a villain. With their involvement in other movies, DC will only be expanding it’s cinematic universe with more movies. For instance: The Joker, Deadshot, Harley Quinn, Killer Croc are all Batman nemesis and could be used in the standalone “Batman” film that is currently being planned. Captain Boomerang, who is Flash’s enemy could have a bigger role in the “Flash” solo movie when it releases. Other villains like El Diablo and Enchantress could star in other movies as villains and provide a challenge for our superheroes.
With so many established villains starring in “Suicide Squad”, one can expect more movies from the DC camp and give MCU healthy competition.
