‘Suicide Squad’ Updates: Deadshot Might Make Batman Appearance; Joker, Allies With Lex Luthor?

As we’ve previously reported, the official synopsis for “Suicide Squad” just dropped along with collectible statues that promote the film. Recently, however, more news for the upcoming film reports of Deadshot making other appearances in the DC Extended Universe (particularly in Batman films) and the dreaded Lex Luthor partnering up with Joker.

Various promotional media for the film suggest prominently of ten villains completing US Intelligence Officer Amanda Waller’s “Task Force X” (these are Deadshot, Harley Quinn, Boomerang, Rick Flag, Enchantress, Killer Croc, Diablo, Katana, Slipknot, and the Joker). This is not the end of the story, apparently, as Yibada reports that the Joker will possibly make a secret alliance with Lex Luthor (as played by Jesse Eisenberg), noting further the fact that the latter once promised Gotham’s Clown Prince that he himself will help the Joker kill Batman (played by Ben Affleck).

They also hinted at rumors that Deadshot will appear in other Batman films as the anti-heroic marksman was said to be scheduled to appear in various movies in the DC Extended Universe. Besides featuring Deadshot, the new “Batman” movies may also have appearances from Red Hood and, of course, the Joker himself, suggesting a storyline reminiscent of “Under the Hood” and “A Death in the Family.”

Outer Places also lauded how the film is getting a relatively unknown franchise the attention that should’ve been for “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.” They also noted DC’s move to capitalize on the garnered hype by releasing a six-part miniseries before the film comes out, most likely in January 2016.

Titled “Suicide Squad Most Wanted,” it will feature writing by Brian Buccellato and Mike W. Barr with art by Viktor Bogdanovik and Richard Friend.  It will focus on Deadshot’s escape from the Belle Reve Penitentiary and (separately) Katana’s efforts to save a nation from Kobra.

There really is a lot going on before “Suicide Squad” hits theaters on August 2016, so stay tuned for further updates, spoilers, and news!
