Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge & Michel’le Cast Updates: Lifetime’s New Movie Describes Another Side
Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge & Michel’le, the newly made biographical television movie, will feature relationship between Dr. Dre and singer Michel’le Toussaint. The television network will be working in collaboration with the TV network Lifetime to portray Michel’le story who is Dr. Dre’s former girlfriend and mother to one of his children.
According to Heavy, Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge & Michel’le will feature truth behind the relationship of Dr. Dre and singer Michel’le. The film will includes Rhyon Nicole Brown as Michel’le, Jamie Kennedy as Jerry Heller, Curtis Hamilton as Dr. Dre, Vonii Bristow as Ice Cube and Omari Wallace as Eazy-E in major roles.
Most of the cast members are reprising their roles from Straight Outta Compton, which was a big hit grossing over $200 million. However, both fans and critics felt a void in the film as many important events were left.
Michel’le got her breakthrough with songs No More Lies and Nicety but both her career and success were short-lived. Her abusive relationship with Dre is said to have made her suffered a lot, although she later found solace with Dr. Dre’s friend and business partner, Suge Knight. Eventually with time, it also failed miserably as it created more problems for her.
In one interview, it is noted that she was initially not interested to describe her part of story but later agreed after watching Straight Outta Compton.
The film, based on the true story of R&B singer, has also depicted some unknown facts about her life and relationship with Dre which lasted for almost a decade. It is reportedly said that Dre has sent Sony Pictures TV a cease and desist letter, threatening to sue if it aired.
Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge & Michel’le already aired on Oct. 15 at on Lifetime and will be up again for replay.
