Taylor Swift Wins Lawsuit Case Filed Over Stealing Lyrics for 1989’S Song ‘Shake It Off’
Earlier this month, we heard the news about a lawsuit filed against the renowned singer Taylor Swift by R&B singer Jesse Graham aka Jesse Braham. Swift was charged with stealing lyrics from his 2013 released song, and at that time we were not sure what is going to happen next. Now the news in this regard is here- Swift has won the lawsuit case after the judge dismissed all the charges against her owing to lack of authentic evidences. Read On!
On November 10, Judge Gail Standish of US district court has cancelled all the points put forward by Jesse Graham against Swift’s 2014 album “1989’s” “Shake It Off” song, including the lawsuit of $42 million. Standish, who is the most famous judge in the World, very thoroughly checked all the points before making a decision and said that the court cannot accept this lawsuit as the lyrics, “haters gonna hate” and “players gonna play” were on Google search engine before Graham’s 2013’s song launch.
Judge Standish very smartly put her decision in front and to its surprise added phrases from Swift’s songs like “Blank Space,” “Shake It Off,” “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” and “Bad Blood” in her statement. “At present, the Court is not saying that Braham can never, ever, ever get his case back in court. But, for now, we have got problems, and the Court is not sure Braham can solve them. As currently drafted, the Complaint has a blank space — one that requires Braham to do more than write his name. And, upon consideration of the Court’s explanation … Braham may discover that mere pleading BandAids will not fix the bullet holes in his case. At least for the moment, Defendants have shaken off this lawsuit,” stated the judge as reported by CNN.
Though, the decision for now is in favor of highest paid singer but Graham can file a fresh complaint if in case he corrected and collected all the evidences favoring his complaint. So, for now it is a sigh of relief for the hot singer who is definitely shaking with joy after hearing the decision in her favor. Here, we can only wish her more good luck and keep brining beautiful songs to us, obviously, without placing herself in controversy.
