Teen Wolf Star Dylan O’Brien Says He Has Always Wanted to Play Spider-Man
Dylan O’Brien is one of the fan favorites to star in the all-new “Spider-Man” movie. While the actor to play the new Spidey has yet to be announced, the “Teen Wolf” star expressed his thoughts on playing Peter Parker. Read on to learn more about this scoop.
The world was taken aback when Marvel announced that Andrew Garfield’s “The Amazing Spider-Man” will no longer be back for a third movie. This has left many fans wondering over the new Spider-Man – which actor will play the new Peter Parker and what will the plot be?
Since then, a number of actors have been named including “Percy Jackson” star Logan Lerman, Zac Efron, Miles Teller, and Dylan O’Brien. O’Brien is one of the fan favorites given his successful performance in his MTV series, “Teen Wolf” and his box-office movie, “The Maze Runner.” The 23-year-old actor, however, seems a bit too old for the role if Marvel really decides to cast a young Peter Parker for the movie.
“I’ve always wanted to play Peter Parker, obviously. I feel like any actor my age, that’s, like, a big thing,” O’Brien told BuzzFeed.
The actor also said that he has not auditioned for the role, slamming earlier reports that he will be playing the new Spider-Man. O’Brien’s girlfriend, Britt Robertson aired her thoughts on having her boyfriend star in the hit Marvel franchise.
“I think he’s be an awesome Spider-Man… He’s really good at the action stuff and he’s funny and he’s charming,” the “Tomorrowland” actress told E! News.
While we can now put this “Dylan O’Brien as the new Spider-Man” rumor to rest, this leaves us with yet another question: Who will play the new Spider-Man?
A footage of the “Avengers: Age of Ultron” post credits was “leaked” online and showed our friendly Spidey in the clip. Fans were raving to see that the rumors about Spider-Man entering the Marvel Cinematic Universe were true. Unfortunately, “Age of Ultron” director Joss Whedon said that the supposedly leaked footage was fake and that fans will not see Spider-Man in the movie’s post-credit scene, ComicBook.com reported.
