The Big Reveal: Stephen Fry to Host EE British Academy Film Awards [WATCH VIDEO]

Stephen Fry will return to host the EE British Academy Film Awards. Fry revealed on Twitter the poster for the 68th annual BAFTA EE British Academy Film Awards.


The British Academy of Film and Television Arts has announced on Dec. 11, 2014 that Fry will return to host the EE British Academy Film Awards on Feb. 8, 2015 at the Royal Opera House in London’s Covent Garden. It will be the 10th time English comedian, actor, writer, presenter and activist has hosted the ceremony. The EE British Academy Film Awards nominations announcement will take place on Friday, Jan. 9, 2015, at BAFTA 195 Piccadilly. A live stream of the announcement will be available via and will commence at 07:35 p.m. 

Fry's best known acting credits include a Golden Globe Award-nominated lead performance in the film “Wilde,” “Melchett.”  He has done great job in the BBC television series “Blackadder,” the title character in the television series “Kingdom.”  He also plays the recurring role of Dr. Gordon Wyatt on the crime series “Bones” and as Gordon Deitrich in the dystopian thriller “V for Vendetta.” He has also written and presented several documentary series, including the Emmy Award-winning Stephen Fry: The Secret Life of the Manic Depressive.” He is also the long-time host of the BBC television quiz show “QI.”

"Hosting the Film Awards has always been a highlight of my year. The opportunity to help the Academy promote filmmaking and encourage cinema-going means a lot to me. I've met many heroes and had the honour of introducing many young talents that are now busy forging remarkable careers for themselves. Seeing the photos from each year back I can chart my bewildering changes in weight too," said Fry about hosting the event, as published on Deadline.

The ceremony will be broadcast exclusively on BBC One in UK and around the globe. The BBC One broadcast will be preceded by a red carpet show on BBC Three and complimented by extended coverage from BAFTA online.

The will feature red carpet highlights and exclusive pictures, onstage and offstage action and interviews, as well as updates across its social networks including Twitter (@BAFTA / #EEBAFTAs), Facebook (/BAFTA), Instagram and Tumblr.
