The first episode, entitled “Pilot” will be setting up the premise and the general mood of the show. It is set in three different main locations- Islamabad, the White House, and an aircraft carrier somewhere in Pakistan.
In the White House, the womanizing Secretary of State, Walter Larson (Tim Robbins), who had been disturbed from a tryst at a hotel by his ever suffering aide, Kendra Peterson (Maribeth Monroe), at an emergency meeting due to the growing political instability in Pakistan. They tried to warn the President and the other officials that their plan to totally remove the nuclear arsenal of Pakistan was too risky and not worth it. However, they didn’t listen to him, and turned to their only source of “hard intelligence” in the region, a low-level State Department official named Alex Talbot (Jack Black). He was currently hiding out at his driver Rafiq’s (Aasif Mandvi) house, which he shares with his family. It was due to a mob they encountered on the streets while Alex was on a mission to secure some drugs for himself.
Meanwhile on an aircraft carrier somewhere in the Pakistani region, ace pilot Zeke “Z-Pak” Tilson (Pablo Schrieber), who had just contacted his ex-wife regarding their drug dealing business, is instructed to go off on a secret mission with his co-pilot and friend, Glenn (Eric Ladin), which he knows will just end up as a disaster.
The second episode, entitled “Half-Cocked,” features Larson trying to sabotage the President’s and the Defense Secretary’s plans to order a military retaliation to the threats of General Umair Zaman (Iqbal Theba). He is currently threatening to destroy Pakistan altogether. However, the only person that Larson can trust his trusty aide.
Meanwhile, in Pakistan, Alex will find himself in a precarious situation as he gets captured by Zaman’s men, and is threatened with unimaginable torture.
Meanwhile, up in the skies, Zeke tries to sober up his drug-addicted partner. He is too late as Glenn ends up releasing a weapon that causes governments to quake in fear.
Spoiler TV also released a new promotional video for “The Brink.”
In it, Alex told Rafiq that they were “going on a mission,” in which he brought along a gun and a bag full of dollars. He was then confronted by Zaman’s men, who later tore up his passport, even if he was a United States government official. It also showed Larson fighting with a government official on the table of the emergency meeting room of the White House, and Zeke’s partner accidentally detonating a hidden mine in the ground.
