Previously on “The Fosters” (“Take Me Out” Season 2 Episode 2), Callie’s (Maia Mitchell) dad, Robert Quinn (Kerr Smith), visited her at work, but he did not introduce himself. He probed about Callie’s work and gave her $100 for a tip. Way too generous, Mr. Quinn! Stef (Teri Polo) and Lena (Sherri Saum) informed Callie that her father wanted her to undergo with DNA testing before he signs the consent. He also wanted Callie to sign an agreement that she would not sue her father for money. Callie agreed and went on to proceed with the DNA testing, but Robert was a no-show.
Callie turned to the Internet and searched for her father. She was surprised to find out that she had already met her him. Robert showed up once again at Callie’s workplace and explained. He told the poor kid that he did not want her to go through all the conditions stated to her. It was his lawyers who insisted. Robert claimed that he did not know that Callie’s mom was pregnant when he left her, contradicting to what Mr. Jacob (Jamie McShane) had told Callie. Before Robert left, he handed Callie a letter. It turned out that the letter was from Sophia, Callie’s half-sister. Sophia was delighted to find out that she has a sister and wanted to meet Callie.
Brandon (David Lambert) was understandably upset that he could not play as well as before. He raised his concerns with Lena and Stef and told them that he wanted to undergo surgery. Stef reminded him of the consequences, but Brandon wanted to give it a shot. Without Lena, Stef and Mike (Danny Nucci) decided not to let Brandon have the surgery. Lena, on the other hand, told Brandon that he should decide for himself. After all, he was the one who can tell how his hand feels.
Earlier, Brandon accompanied the gang in an all-ages bar. Emma’s (Amanda Leighton) friend was in a band and invited the others to watch it perform. Brandon met the new girl named Lou (Ashley Argota). After the band’s performance, Brandon aired out his thoughts about the show. When Lou overheard this, she took Brandon’s comments as an insult. Brandon searched the web about the band and tried to play some of their recordings.
As for the case of the missing Ana (Alexandra Barreto), Stef went to Dani (Marla Sokoloff) for some information concerning Mike. Dani, in turn, told Mike that Stef talked to her. Mike confronted Stef. Stef asked him if he had anything to do with Ana’s disappearance. As expected, Mike insisted that he was innocent.
