According to The Hollywood Reporter (THR), the new trailer features footages of a desolated and burnt down District 13. The action-packed footages contains scenes such as a captured Peeta who tries to warn Katniss, and President Snow who tries to threaten the protagonist, "Miss Everdeen, prepare to pay the ultimate price." Katniss then responds in her almighty glory, “I have a message for President Snow – If we burn, you burn with us”, hence the trailer’s title.
Directed by Francis Lawrence, the upcoming “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1” is the first part of the third and final installment to the "Hunger Games" franchise based on the novel "Mockingjay," the final book in "The Hunger Games" trilogy. The film sees the return of stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Julianne Moore, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright, Stanley Tucci and Donald Sutherland. It is produced by Nina Jacobson and Jon Kilik, screenplay by Peter Craig and Danny Strong, and distributed by Lionsgate.
Following the events of “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,” the story continues to follow Katniss Everdeen, who, after escaping the Third Quarter Quell, becomes a reluctant hero and symbol of hope for the nation of Panem.
The original pic, “The Hunger Games,” received positive reviews from critics, with praise for its themes and messages, as well as Lawrence's portrayal of Katniss, the film made the largest worldwide opening weekend for a film not released during the summer or the holiday period and grossed $408,010,692 in North America, and $283,237,076 in other countries, for a worldwide total of $691,247,768, as well as receiving several accolades, nominations and awards. Its sequel also received positive reviews from critics as well as numerous nominations. The sequel grossed $424,668,047 in North America and $439,897,616 in other countries for a worldwide total of $864,565,663 becoming the 37th highest-grossing film of all time, fifth highest-grossing 2013 film, the highest-grossing film distributed by Lionsgate to date and the highest-grossing film of the "The Hunger Games" series to date.
"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1" kicks off in the big screens on Nov. 21, 2014.
