‘The Lego Movie Sequel’ to Air Following the ‘Avengers: Infinity War’

Good news, “The Lego Movie” shippers! Emmet Brickowski and Wyldstyle will be back for yet another adventure, as the animated movie will be getting a sequel, which will be released following the “Avengers: Infinity War.” Read on to learn more about this scoop.

“The Lego Movie” took the big screen by storm in 2014 despite several fans doubting on the success of the movie. The animated movie raked in a total of $468.8 million in domestic and worldwide release. It’s really not such a wonder that Warner Bros. decided to make a sequel to the hit adventure and comedy film based on the popular Lego toys.

As a matter of fact, “The Lego Movie” will not only be getting a sequel, but it has also inspired the creation of other spinoff films that are still based on the concept of using Lego characters. According to Cinema Blend, “The LEGO Batman Movie” is one of the two spin-off movies that will be produced before the sequel hits the theatres.

“The Lego Batman Movie” will recreate Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight” trilogy and “will explore Batman’s emotions and have him trying to find happiness.” Phil Lord and Chris Miller revealed that the spin-off movie will be honoring previous actors of Batman movies in the past, which might include Lego-lized versions of Ben Affleck, George Clooney, Christian Bale, Michael Keaton and Val Kilmer.

Meanwhile, the second LEGO spin-off movie is the “Ninjago” movie. Details about the “Ninjago” movie and “The Lego Movie Sequel” have not yet been released, but Warner Bros. executives Dan Fellman and Veronika Vandberg revealed that this is all just the beginning.

“These three films already in the pipeline are just the beginning of a creative and diverse animation slate that will be delighting audiences for years to come,” they said, according to Comic Book.

“The Lego Movie Sequel” will also air on May 18, 2018, two weeks following the release of “Avengers: Infinity War.” “Ninjago” will hit theatres on Sept. 22, 2017 and “The Lego Batman Movie” will be released on Feb. 10, 2017.
