‘The Lion King’ Sequel TV Series ‘The Lion Guard’ To Release Special Hour Long Film In November!
“The Lion King” sequel TV series is soon to hit TV screen in January 2016 but “The Lion King” and Simba fans has a surprise coming up! Disney Junior and Disney Channel are to release an hour-long special TV film for the new series “The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar.”
“The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar” will take place somewhere between events of “The Lion King II: Simba’s Pride.” “The Lion Guard” is the second spin-off after “Timon and Pumba” TV series from “Lion King” franchise.
“The Lion King” sequel film which will introduce fans to the new world of Pride and Simba’s son will feature on Disney Junior and Disney Channel on Nov. 22. The actual “The Lion Guard” featuring Simba and Nala’s youngest son Kion will release on Jan. 2016.
“Lion King” fans will get to see many familiar faces on the TV series. Along with Simba’s son Kion, Kiara, Timon, Pumbaa, Rafiki, Zazu, Simba, Nala and Mufasa will also be seen. Serving as Kion’s friend and good advisors will be new characters like cheetah named Fuli, a hippopotamus named Beshte, egret named Ono and a honey badger named Bunga.
Simba’s son Kion will be seen protecting and serving Pride Land. According to Wikia, “Lion King” sequel “The Lion Guard” will be creating an army to protect Pride Land.
“Throughout the movie and the series, the diverse team of young animals will learn how to utilize each of their unique abilities to solve problems and accomplish tasks to maintain balance within the Circle of Life.” the outlet further noted.
According to World screen, Ford Riley, who is serving as screenplay writer, explained, “It’s the background of the Lion Guard and how it ties into the relationship of Mufasa and Scar and how in the new series it will affect the relationship between Kiara, who we met in The Lion King 2: Simba’s Pride, and [her brother] Kion, the lead character in “The Lion Guard.”
