The Mindy Project Season 3 Recap: Stanford

By April Lara | 2 years ago

Our heroine Mindy is taking her career to the next level in “The Mindy Project” Season 3, Episode 12 “Stanford” when she finally took the fellowship course. Read below for our full recap.

The episode showed the depth of Mindy and Danny’s relationship that even though they argue a lot and even fight over the simplest things, you can just see that they do adore each other so much and would be there for each other no matter what. Anyway, let’s move on to my recap.

The episode kicked off with Danny helping Mindy get settled in her dorm room. Mindy decorated the walls with a Rosie the Riveter poster (the pin-up girl with the “We Can Do It!” tagline). The funny thing was that Mindy isn’t really into Rosie and she really doesn’t know her and when Danny saw the poster, he complimented it and Mindy said that it’s Taylor Swift. Okay, Mindy…

That night, Mindy had to go to a kick-off party so she dressed up in a really sparkly party dress assuming that it’s that kind of party only to be disappointed. When she got there and everyone’s dressed in scrubs or coats and that’s when she also found out that the bash was actually an acronym that stands for “Beginning of Academic Scholarship Hang-out.”

To make matters worse, Bob Gurgle, Danny’s pal was there to make Mindy feel worse about herself. This frustrated Mindy that she finally gave in. She asked Danny to help her with Bob like make her feel good in front of him and of course, our supportive Danny agreed. He set up a dinner with Bob and his wife and they went on a double date together.

Things were going well until Danny felt a foot in his crotch and all along he thought it was Mindy, but it was actually Bob’s wife. Oops. And we thought that Mindy and Danny would fight about it but surprisingly they fought about a different matter – how insecure Mindy is. Mindy blamed Danny for the whole mess because he’s the one who insisted to put in a good word for her with Bob. Danny finally told her the truth by telling her that he really doesn’t know if Mindy can do the fellowship alone.

What did Mindy do next? She proved that she’s a good doctor so she told Bob that she doesn’t want any special treatment from him just because he’s buddies with her boyfriend and they went out on a double date. Unfortunately, Bob got hit by a security vehicle during their conversation and it was Mindy who stitched him up, proving that she’s really a good doctor.

The episode ended with Mindy realizing that she can really do the fellowship on her own, but she also wants Danny to be with him throughout the whole thing and finally they made up.
