The Night Shift Gets Picked Up for a Second Season

“The Night Shift” doctors and nurses will stick around for a second season! NBC has picked up a second season of the medical drama series. We do get a lot of medical dramas nowadays, but this show gives it a whole new meaning with different issues that they have to tackle per episode. In fact, there are times when their hour-long episode is not enough for fans out there. Read on to learn more about this scoop.

The show has gotten decent ratings with an average of 7.9 million viewers, together with a 1.7 rating among adults in the 18-49 bracket. This marks “The Night Shift” as the most watched summer TV series for NBC. As of the moment, Season 1 is currently running and is getting great feedback from fans.


“The Night Shift” revolves around the medical staff of San Antonio Memorial, who works during the night shift and tackles different medical cases and also personal issues that make the show even more interesting. Their struggle for teamwork is also a must see. Show creators are Gabe Sachs and Jeff Judah, and cast members include Eion Macken, Jill Flint, Freddy Rodriguez, Daniella Alonso, Ken Leung, Jeananne Goosen, Robert Bailey, Brendan Fehr, JR Lemon and Scott Wolf. The show’s second season will consist of 14 episodes, which will air most possibly in the summer of 2015.

There is no wonder that “The Night Shift” gets picked up for its second season because it is a good medical drama, and based on its rating as well as reviews from fans, a second season is definitely something that they have anticipated.
