The Shack Storyline

The Shack follows the tale of Mackenzie Allen Phillips, played by Avatar actor Sam Worthington, Entertainment Weekly reported. Mack experiences depression because of the tragic loss of his youngest daughter Missy. The authorities believe that kidnappers abducted and killed Missy. Mack slowly loses faith in his religious beliefs.

However, Mack suddenly receives an intriguing letter which leads him to the mysterious shack in the middle of nowhere where Missy could have been murdered. He then goes into an extraordinary journey that makes his spirit come to life again.

The Shack Stars

The Shack also features award-winning artists Octavia Spencer from Hidden Figures and Tim McGraw, a worldwide country music sensation with multiple Grammy awards. Spencer, an Oscar winner, gives a unique portrayal of God. Her recent film Hidden Figures is an Oscar contender that might win her another award again.

Meanwhile, McGraw also wrote the movie’s original song Keep Your Eyes on Me with his wife Faith Hill. Other soundtracks of the film are performed by another country artist Lady Antebellum and Christian band Hillsong United.

The movie also stars Radha Mitchell, Graham Greene, Ryan Robbins, Megan Charpentier, Gage Munroe, Amelie Eve, Derek Hamilton, Jordyn Ashley Olson, Emily Holmes, Avraham Aviv Alush, Lane Edwards and Kathryn Kirkpatrick.

Stuart Hazeldine is the director of the film. On the other hand, the writers are John Fusco and Andrew Lanham. Netter Productions and Summit Entertainment serve as the movie’s producers.

The original novel successfully sold copies reaching 20 million since its 2007 release. William P. Young is the Canadian author behind the bestselling book.

The Shack movie premieres in theaters on March 2017.
