“The Vampire Diaries” Season 7 ratings might not be okay without Nina Dobrev’s character Elena Gilbert but Ian Somerhalder is. Speculations has it that there must be some connection between ex lovers and “The Vampire Diaries” co-stars Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder.

In a recent interview with E! News, Ian Somerhalder was seen perfectly fine with Nina Dobrev’s exit. Infact, Somerhalder was heard convincing that the show “The Vampire Diaries” and Damon’s character are better off without each other, as Damon will finally get more girls to sleep with!

Somerhalder jokingly told the tabloid, “As long as he can fit up to eight sorority girls, then that’s how big we should make the bed. That’s Damon Salvatore, you know what I mean? He’s not married.”

Somerhalder agreed to having a blast as new arcs have opened up with Nina Dobrev’s exit and his character, Damon can finally develop in new dimensions. Somerhalder also added, “They [Damon and Elena] were great characters separate, they were great characters together, and they remain great characters separated.”

“The Vampire Diaries” Season 7 is certainly not looking bright for fans of Damon and Elena who wished for Nina Dobrev’s return. There had been many rumors that Nina Dobrev will make a comeback.

“The Vampire Diaries” Season 7 cast also seemed hopeful of the same. Paul Wesley, who plays the character of Stefan, told TV Insider, “Elena’s still a very big part of the story. Her body’s in danger in the first few episodes, and Damon is doing everything he can to make sure it stays safe if and when she wakes up.”

Meanwhile, “The Vampire Diaries” and spin-off series “The Originals” have been rescheduled to new slots as per January 2016 by CW.
