‘The Vampire Diaries’ Spoilers: Ian Somerhalder’s Ex Nina Dobrev Knew Series Is About To End!
“The Vampire Diaries,” popular romantic drama CW series is facing serious backlash due to less viewership. Recently only, CW revealed that “The Vampire Diaries” Season 7 is being pushed to Fridays slot from Thursdays slot. The schedule change came as a shock as “The Vampire Diaries” has never been reschedules since its first premiere.
With the exit of Nina Dobrev, “The Vampire Diaries” was trying to cover up the after-effects of her exit. Looks like, it was not a thorough job done, as Nina Dobrev’s character Elena Gilbert’s exit has clearly upset viewers. “The Vampire Diaries” Season 7 Episode 7 “Mommie Dearest” has seen the lowest viewership of 1.10 million in show’s history!
“The Vampire Diaries” cast has also realised that Elena Gilbert’s exit from the show is a huge impact and was hoping for Nina Dobrev’s return. Paul Wesley, who plays the character of Stefan, has told TV Insider, “Elena’s still a very big part of the story. Her body’s in danger in the first few episodes, and Damon is doing everything he can to make sure it stays safe if and when she wakes up.”
Dobrev also was very confident in leaving the show, with which she is related since last 6 years to pursue other small roles! She confirmed via her Instagram that she is not returning to “The Vampire Diaries.”
“The Vampire Diaries” Season 7 flash-forwards are also hinting towards series’ death as Damon is already been shown as isolated. It was since Elena’s exit and Caroline has been shown as happily engaged in future.
In his recent interview with Variety, Somerhalder also expressed dark clouds over future of “The Vampire Diaries.” He told, “I personally think everyone thought it was going to be a huge departure after Elena (Nina Dobrev) was gone. And I was one of those people. I thought it was going to be a huge departure for the typical formula of our show. By virtue of the fact that it wasn’t a huge leap for mankind, as far as changing it up, there were some differences that sort of mixed up the formula.”
CW Series “The Vampire Diaries” and spin-off “The Originals” will debut on new Friday slot from Jan. 29, 2016. “Flash” and “Arrow” TV Series’ spin-off “Legend of Tomorrow” and “The 100” Season 3 will be taking the schedules of Thursdays.
