‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ wins the Golden Globe!
“The Wolf of Wall Street” just recently hit the screens and it has already been given a Golden Globe award. And ah yes, the internet and including the rest of the world can now breathe a sigh of relief as one our most favorite actors has finally gotten an award and his name, Leonardo DiCaprio!
The actor also thanked film director, Martin Scorsese for his ‘mentorship’, saying ‘he had influenced everybody in this room’ with his visionary film making.
In the film, DiCaprio plays stockbroker Jordan Belfort, who fraudulently make millions of dollars before going to prison for refusing to co-operate in a 1990’s securities fraud case.
DiCaprio beat off competition in the Best Actor category from fellow nominees Oscar Isaac for Inside Llewyn Davis, Joaquin Phoenix for Her, and Christian Bale for American Hustle.
Tina Fey welcomed DiCaprio to the stage, telling the audience: “And now, like a supermodel’s vagina, let’s all give a warm welcome to Leonardo DiCaprio.”
The actor seemed unaffected by the joke, and simply brushed it off with a blush and a thumbs up.
DiCaprio attended the awards ceremony with his mother Irmelin, leaving his 21-year-old girlfriend Toni Garrn at home.
