Theo James talks ‘London Fields’ and ‘Allegiant;’ Vague About ‘Underworld’ Rumors
British actor and star of the “Divergent” franchise, Theo James recently revealed details about his involvement in the final installment of the movie adaptation of Veronica Roth’s series, “Allegiant.” Read on for more details.
This Friday, in an interview with Collider, the 30-year-old actor spoke about his role in the recently released “Insurgent,” the second film of the “Divergent” franchise.
”In a way we were liberated a little bit. When you’re doing the first film in a franchise a lot of people have high expectations, but with the second movie you have a little more freedom.”
“Insurgent” hit the theaters this March and gained mixed reviews from fans and critics. James also seemed excited about starting to film for “Divergent: Allegiant – Part 1” next to his co-star Shailene Woodley, which will premiere on March 18, 2016.
James was, however, exceptionally vague about his rumored involvement in the fifth movie of the “Underworld” series saying that though the producers might have plans for him, but his involvement in the series is still a “big question mark.”
Earlier this year, The Hollywood Reporter released an exclusive on James reprising his character, David from 2012’s “Underworld: Awakening.” The latest film stars Kate Beckinsale as the protagonist. “Underworld 5” begins filming in Prague this October.
James has also been filming the thriller “London Fields” with Johnny Depp. Describing the experience as amazing, James called the film “wacky” and similar in tone with the memorable “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.” Aside from James and Depp, the film also stars Cara Delevingne, Jim Sturgess and Amber Heard and is based on a 1989 novel by Martin Amis. “London Fields” hits the screens later in 2015.
